In need of a quick weeknight dinner idea? Perfect, as this super easy and oh so delicious pasta idea will for sure make a perfect meal.
Indeed, it’s quite some carbs but a healthy lifestyle does require them for time to time 🤩
It is made with very few ingredients and takes only 15 minutes to get it ready. Dinner was never this easy.
Let’s make it together friends
Step 1: start with boiling 500 g of pasta
Choose spaghetti and boil them as per package instructions.
Add about 1 teaspoon of salt to 1 liter of water, together with 1 tablespoon of oil. Do not throw all the water away, from the pasta, once it is ready – you will need about 1 cup further in the recipe.
Step 2 : golden 1 small shallot and 400 g of bacon
While the pasta gets ready, get your bacon crispy on medium fire, together with the finely chopped onion and 1 tablespoon of oil. Go for smoked bacon, as it will give your pasta a super taste.
Step 4: use 200 g parmesan, 1 egg and 60 ml of cooking cream
Mix them all together until well incorporated, than add a bit of pepper and chili flakes for extra taste. You will end up with a similar mixture, just like in the below image
Step 4 : place the pasta directly from the water to the bacon
Put off the fire and mix the bacon with the spaghetti, adding slowly the parmesan mixture whiles continuously stirring. You do not want to cook the egg, so stirring will not only ensure that every bit is coated, but it will also be the first step for the carbonara sauce.
Take about 200 ml of pasta water and add it to the pasta. This will help creating the sauce and you will end up having the dish just like in the picture below.
And voila, now you have a delicious carbonara to enjoy for your dinner.
Serve it with some extra parmesan on top and some fresh chopped parsley leafs
